Jinny Software Is First To Deliver Secure Wtls For Wap From Baltimore Technologies

3 February 2000 - Secure WAP 1.1 Gateway enables M-Commerce
Cannes, 3 February 2000: Jinny Software, leading manufacturers of value-added services platforms, WAP gateways and servers for wireless network providers, have announced that they are first to provide full strength security to WAP for mobile-commerce. The Jinny Software WAP Gateway now incorporates Baltimore Telepathy™ to implement Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS).

Baltimore Telepathy™ WAP Security Toolkit has allowed Jinny Software to offer complete unbroken security from the mobile phone all the way to the WAP Gateway. The Jinny secure WAP Gateway now enables business to provide new services to mobile customers by securing communications and transactions from the end-user to existing e-commerce and IT systems. Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is used to offer enhanced authentication and non-repudiation functionality provided by digital certificates.
Jinny Software’s WAP gateway was fully developed in-house and released to market in December 1999, timed for launch with the latest WAP compatible mobile phones. It is WAP 1.1 compliant, and is fully scalable thus offering an ideal solution for corporates, banks and GSM operators.
