Asian orders ‘on the books’ as Media Resource Server powers advanced interactive services
· Enhanced portfolio offers operators the opportunity to deliver new compelling personalised messaging and media services to Asian subscribers
Dublin/Singapore, 16th October 2006 – In the face of an increasingly converged communications environment, Jinny Software, a leading global supplier of messaging and media processing platforms to mobile network operators, is launching its enhanced product portfolio to bring compelling personalised messaging and media services to subscribers.
“Subscribers will make good use of personalised messaging and media services if they are compelling enough. And that will add value and increase operator revenues,” says Max Wilkie, CEO at Jinny, who believes that convergence on IP as a common transport protocol is set to transform messaging on both legacy (2G, 3G) and future (IMS) networks. Continuing, he adds, “In the new landscape of hybrid networks, both business users and consumers will favour those providers that offer an intuitive, personalised multimedia user experience. And all of the elements of our enhanced portfolio will be attractive to Asian operators and service providers who are seeking advanced subscriber service offerings, although we expect Video Ringback will likely see the fastest uptake in this region.
“We believe that service providers will increasingly use 3G & IMS-compatible solutions to create fresh value propositions to drive new revenue streams and to cut operational expenditure. Jinny’s additions to its product portfolio will enable service providers anywhere to deliver personalised messaging and media services to subscribers across all legacy, hybrid and future networks. The Asian market has demonstrated its appetite for messaging services. ARPU has seen significant increase through premium content, especially ringback tones and music and video applications,” Wilkie states.
In all, Jinny Software now has four solution areas – Messaging, Media, Rating & Charging, and Routing & Filtering. The company’s Media solution, for example, enables operators to rapidly deploy advanced interactive services requiring media processing. The Media Resource Server enables network operators to introduce new revenue-generating audio and video services.
Wilkie concludes, “Convergence in the messaging space is a challenge that has to be addressed immediately as subscribers become more demanding and knowledgeable. By addressing convergence in messaging through our product portfolio Jinny places itself in a leading position to support the needs of service providers, mobile network operators and virtual network operators, anywhere in the world, well into the future of this increasingly advanced services environment.”
Commenting on the company’s repositioning, Declan O’Mahony, Chief Commercial Officer, said, “Jinny has seen a lot of interest in its new media solutions. The Video Ringback product is one of special interest to Asian operators as they offer personalisation features and the ability to host local video content, which are very popular selling features in these regional markets. We already have one order on our books for the Video Ringback Server from a leading Tier 1 operator in South East Asia. We have also supplied our IMS-ready Messaging Backbone to a 3G operator in the region. We look forward to rolling out our solutions fast across the region.”
