Acotel Group S.p.a. Will Provide Multi_media Messaging Platforms In Jordan And Kuwait

10 August 2001: The two deals, worth over US$4 million will be delivered by Jinny Software Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Acotel Group S.p.A.
Dublin, 10 th August 2001 – Acotel Group S.p.A – the leading Italian Multimedia Application Service Provider and Europe’s largest pure-play mobile data company, has entered into two agreements worth US$4.2 million. Jinny Software Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Acotel Group S.p.A, will provide a multi-media messaging platform and Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) to these key Middle-Eastern markets.
Jinny Software Ltd will provide two SMSC’s and a Multi-Media Messaging Gateway into both Jordan and Kuwait, beating a number of major SMSC vendors in a competitive market. The above mentioned contracts also incorporate a range of Value Added Services including Picture Messaging and Ring Tones.
Since the launch of messaging services on the Fastlink network, powered by Jinny’s first SMSC, traffic has reached over 1 million text messages per day.
The acquisition of Jinny Software Ltd by the Acotel Group S.p.A (April 2001) was in line with the Group’s strategy. These deals are further evidence of the Acotel Group strategy, which provides an integrated commercial offering to their customers, enabling network access and the delivery of value added services including content.
Jinny Software Ltd., with headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and offices in Dubai, UAE, provides leading Wireless Multimedia Messaging platforms to mobile network operators.
Acotel Group S.p.A operates as an Applications Service Provider in Europe and Latin America, supplying value added information services, including mobile commerce, to Network Operators and Corporations. In the year 2000, the Group reached a consolidated net profit equal to 2.7 billion Lira and revenues equal to 20.7 billion Lira. (a 159% increase compared to 1999).
