Telecoms Engineer, Brazil

Due a significant expansion programme in 2007 we now wish to hire for the above position to work from our office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Jinny Software sells our in-house developed Messaging and Media processing applications to Mobile Operators worldwide.

Reporting to the Customer Support Manager located in our headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, with a dotted line to the local General Manager, the key deliverable of this position is to conduct platform installations at customer sites across the Americas and provide full post installation customer support to all new and existing Jinny Software customers in the region.

Role description:

Deployment and support of new / upgraded Jinny solutions within mobile network operators – mainly SMSC / MMSC deployments. This is a key role for our company and an excellent opportunity for an ambitious telecoms expert to join an exciting and growing company.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years installation experience, SMSC/MMSC installation experience especially relevant;
  • Unix (preferably), Linux, Networking and general system administration experience required;
  • Solid understanding of mobile infrastructure, especially non-core messaging systems, e.g. SMSC, MMSC, Value Added Service Platforms;
  • Solid understanding of mobile network protocols, e.g. SS7, IP, SMPP & SNMP;
  • Good trouble shooting skills, team player and mobile operator experience;
  • Willing to travel within the region and beyond;
  • As well as Portuguese, a fluency in English & Spanish is required.
