Mobile Telecom Product Manager, Dublin

Due to continued, significant expansion in our company, we wish to hire a Product Manager to work from our Dublin office. This hire will take ownership of dedicated products in our mobile messaging portfolio.

Working within the Product Management group in Dublin, the Product Manager will report into to the Head of Product Management and will have a close working relationship with the development teams and the other product managers.

The core objectives of the position are as follows:

  • Capture market requirements and defining the product strategy and roadmap to suit customer needs, working with in house development resources;
  • Work with the sales teams and customers to understand product requirements and translate these into product deliverables;
  • Ensure that the product is fully supported by professional documentation (White Papers & Product Descriptions);
  • Clearly define the product and the service model to support it;
  • Facilitate cross-functional co-operation between the sales team and the development team, quality assurance, release management and technical standards;
  • Champion the product and ensure its success in the market place;
  • Keep pace with market trends and adapt the product live cycle to suit;
  • Participate in sales activities and product demonstrations at customer sites.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • You will be an expert Product Manager with at least three years experience in technical product management in the wireless telecoms, telecoms or Internet technologies industries;
  • Experience in a similar role and industry is essential with demonstrated ability to develop relationships and maintain credibility with field sales and development. Past customer-facing experience is essential;
  • A technical academic qualification (strong degree or Masters degree) in computer science or an engineering discipline;
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written and clear ability to define, articulate and express product capabilities and service model will be essential;
  • A good track record in problem analysis and problem solving;
  • Detailed understanding of the software development life cycle;
  • The ability to translate customer requirements into software features;
  • Good management skills and must be a team player;
  • An understanding of the managed services business or selling of software as a service will be a definite plus;
  • Must be fluent in the English language and be willing to travel on company business;
  • International experience of working with dispersed teams will be a significant advantage.
