Dublin, 30th September, 2008 – Jinny Software, a leading supplier of personalised messaging and media processing platforms to mobile network operators, today announced that its trusted platfrom, the SMSC and Message Router, has been bought by Sercomtel, a leading mobile operator in Brazil. Sercomtel chose the solution from Jinny as it could serve and interconnect both the operator’s GSM and 3G networks, as well as integrating with its legacy TDMA SMSC. Availability of local support engineers, willingness to develop a customised solution to address its specific Mobile Number Portability needs and quick deployment timeframe were all factors in choosing the solution from Jinny.
Sercomtel’s system will work as if it was composed of two SMSCs, one serving its current GSM network and other serving its future 3G network. Jinny’s Message Router will interconnect Sercomtel’s legacy TDMA SMSC with its GSM and 3G networks and with all other Brazilian operators. The customised Mobile Number Portability feature addresses specific Brazilian telecom regulation requirements.
Mr. Flavio Borsato, VAS Manager, Sercomtel, said, “We chose Jinny Software because of the varying aspects of flexibility in its solution, from architecture to customisation. We required a very particular solution for a system that could serve and interconnect both our GSM and 3G networks, and which also could integrate into our legacy TDMA SMSC.”
Jinny’s Regional Sales Director for the Americas, Fintan Supple, said, “We are delighted to be able to support Sercomtel with managing its multi-technology network interconnection. The successful project completion is an important goal for us in South America as it replaces a competitor’s solution. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Sercomtel in the project phase, and beyond.
