PUERTO RICO – 5th November 2007 – Jinny Software, leading provider of messaging and VAS solutions to the mobile industry, today announces two important contract wins in the Caribbean. The first deal is a contract to deliver a multi-node messaging solution to a new group operator that is emerging in the Caribbean market. This will include SMSC, MMSC and a Voicemail System to be deployed in the first network roll-out within the next three months followed quickly by a second network roll-out in the first quarter of 2008.
The new group operator was searching for a supplier who could deliver all of its messaging requirements within a challenging timeframe. They were also looking for an established and reliable vendor, which would ultimately become a long-term, strategic supplier for its other networks rolling out in the region.
This latest, significant deal comes on the back of other recent successes in the region where existing customers have purchased additional systems for their networks, ranging from complementary MMS applications to a suite of SMS-based VAS applications. Such follow-on contracts and long-term relationships are a testament to the confidence and satisfaction these regional customers have in the Jinny product suite.
The second contract win sees Jinny deploying an enriched multimedia service offering to a Tier 1 operator in the Caribbean. This solution, which complements the traditional MMSC, enables the operator’s entire network subscriber base to compose/send and store multimedia messages from a web-based environment. The purpose of the implementation is to encourage MMS adoption and increase usage by subscribers. Additionally, it offers features such as MMS Studio Blog, which allows subscribers to create and manage their own blogs and its contents (text, image, audio), uploading and downloading as required using their own MMS-compliant handsets. The service is due to go live in early 2008.
Fintan Supple, Americas Sales Manager, Jinny Software, said, “Individual and group operators across the Caribbean now recognise the skills, professionalism, leading edge product range we offer to solve their messaging and VAS requirements. These recent deals also highlight our clear understanding of the regional requirements and challenges operators face across the Caribbean.”
In June, Jinny announced that it had won deals to provide its messaging platforms to leading international telecoms provider Cable & Wireless’ 14 businesses in the Americas and the Caribbean.
